PLEASE KEEP DOGS ON LEAD ON PUBLIC FOOTPATHS

We have had a number of reports from landowners about dogs not being kept suitably under control while walking in fields with livestock present. It is particularly important at this time of year during lambing season and we would remind you that:

Under the Dogs (Protection of Livestock) Act 1953, if a dog worries sheep on any agricultural land, the person in charge of the dog can be fined up to £1,000 if found guilty.
