The Parish Council propose to replace the wooden play equipment (which is now reaching the end of its life) with a "Fantasy FunRun Trail" as illustrated. It will be similar in size to the existing trail and be located in the same area within the park, this will ensure a portion of open green space remains to allow for free play.

Desford Parish Neighbourhood Plan wins strong support

Desford's Neighbourhood Plan was strongly supported at the referendum last Thursday. More than 90% of residents voted in favour of adopting the Neighbourhood Plan, which is excellent news for Desford, Botcheston, Newtown Unthank and the rest of the Parish.

We are really pleased that the basket ball hoop and practice court on Kirkby road were installed last week and brilliant to see they are getting good use already! The nearby rope climbing frame is also a great addition to the park.

This was the site of a chapel built for William Gadsby to preach in. William Gadsby was an early leader of the Strict Baptist movement.
